Softeng delivers the award to the outstanding CIO in ‘La Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica’

Last Monday, March 21, the 27th edition of “La Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica” was held in Barcelona. The meeting point of the ICT sector that is held every year bringing together the most outstanding professionals, companies and institutions and that hosts the La Nit awards gala, enlivened in this edition by live music by the V Big Band of Vilanova and the Geltrú.

The event has had the participation of the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès ; the Vice President and Minister for Digital Policies and Territory, Jordi Puigneró ; the Minister of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain, Diana Morant ; the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, Roberto Sánchez ; and the lieutenant of Agenda 2030 of the Barcelona City Council, Laia Bonet , among other authorities.

The gala, presented by the popular journalist Núria Solé , began with a welcome by the dean of COEINF, Eduard Martin , and the president of Telecos.cat, Pedro Linares , to continue later with the awarding of prizes and awards.

 

Special mention for our 25th anniversary

During the awards ceremony, at Softeng we received a special mention for our 25th anniversary , thus recognizing our trajectory.

For our part, Carlos Colell, CEO of Softeng , presented the ‘Joan Clarke’ award that recognizes the outstanding CIO, to Mercedes Buxadera, CIO for Southern Europe of the Danone Group .

The rest of the winners were:

  • “Salvà i Campillo” Award for Outstanding Personality: Anna N. Schlegel, Vice President of the Californian construction company Procore and Chief Strategy Officer of GPA Innova.
  • “Salvà i Campillo” Award for Entrepreneurship: Marta Guardiola, co-inventor of microwave-based technology for colorectal cancer detection.
  • “Alan Turing” Award for Social Commitment: HUGO Project, from the Evidenze company (Pedro Hernández, director of Evidenze Clinical Research)
  • Communication Award: to the program L’Altra Ràdio”, directed and presented by Cinto Niqui.

On the other hand, the professor and professor at the Castelldefels School of Telecommunications and Aerospace Engineering (EETAC), Ramon Pallàs , received the highest distinction – the Honor Award – and the organization of La Nit also gave a double special recognition to the consortium public Localret, and the Higher Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering of Barcelona (UPC).

The talent of women in the world of technology and innovation

An event dedicated, especially, to make visible the talent of women in the world of technology and innovation and the role of the great pioneering women in the ICT sector, who paved the way and new opportunities in technological careers.

“La Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica” is an event organized jointly by the Catalan Association of Telecommunications Engineering and Digital Technologies (Telecos.cat) and the Official Col·legi d’Enginyeria Informàtica de Catalunya (COEINF).
